London Green’s Woodrow development sells out!
Situated in Woolwich, one of London’s thriving and well-connected towns, Woodrow is an exclusive development of 23 one and two-bedroom apartments and duplexes from leading residential developer, London Green. Originally built as a factory and warehouse, the meticulous redesign is a striking combination of new and old, offering a selection of stylish urban homes ideally suited to first-time buyers.
James Tregoning, Managing Director at London Green comments: “In recent years Woolwich has undergone significant regeneration and become a thriving commuter town. The popularity of the area among young professionals has been proven by the sales success at our Woodrow development, which completely sold out. We have plans to develop more of our micro-apartment offering, which will perfectly cater to this younger Londoner demographic in Woolwich, soon.”
Prices at Woodrow started from £280,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £415,000 for a two-bed. All apartments have now sold, with 21 out of the 23 homes being purchased by first time buyers. All apartments were available through the Government’s London Help to Buy scheme.
London Green’s in-house design team sympathetically redesigned the building to retain the classic Victorian character and reflect its history as the former Slazenger tennis ball factory. Using permitted development rights to convert the building to residential, it also added three new build units to the roof, designed to match the traditional properties within the period property.
In a nod to the building’s former life, the clever design includes crittall-style windows and doors and suspended walkways which overlook the communal courtyard, enhancing the accessibility routes as well as saving internal building space and offering opportunities for residents to socialise.
A brilliant example of London Green’s signature micro-apartment product, the apartments range from 323 sq ft to 648 sq ft in size, with the carefully considered layouts making the best use of light and space to deliver an innovative approach to space saving and modern open-plan living. In consideration of the anticipated interest of a large number of first-time buyers, AEG appliances including a fridge/freezer, oven, electric hob, extractor fan and washer/dryer have been integrated in the kitchens and contemporary sanitaryware has been provided in the bathrooms. Other key features include private outdoor space in the form of a balcony or terrace, engineered oak flooring throughout, a video entry system and an integrated reception system (IRS) allowing for both Digital Freeview and Sky satellite TV.
